Welcome to Homeschool OT!
Homeschooling a child with sensory differences, executive functioning challenges, attention struggles, dysgraphia, anxiety, or learning differences can feel overwhelming. You’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts, and searched for answers—but you’re still trying to figure out what will actually work for your child.
That’s where HomeschoolOT comes in.
As an occupational therapist and homeschooling mom, I help families understand the “why” behind their child’s challenges and translate that understanding into practical strategies for everyday learning. Together, we’ll look at your child’s strengths, needs, interests, and goals alongside your family rhythms and homeschool environment to create a plan that fits real life.
Because the answer isn’t usually more curriculum, more schedules, or more checklists.
The answer is understanding how your child learns best.
With more than 18 years as an occupational therapist and nine years homeschooling my own children, I’ve helped families navigate sensory processing, executive functioning, handwriting, attention, emotional regulation, and learning differences with confidence and hope.
You don’t need another generic tip from the internet.
You need someone who can help you connect the dots.
Homeschooling isn’t meant to be alone-schooling.
Hi, I’m Sarah Collins,
Maybe your child walks out of the room for the 15th time because focusing is hard, or tears fall over a seemingly endless page of math problems. Perhaps weeks of gentle pencil-grip practice still lead to daily tantrums. You may feel stretched thin, wondering if you can ever be enough for your kids.
Whether you are on this journey because you’ve felt a long time desire to homeschool or maybe homeschooling out of necessity because other educational options aren’t working.
I get it.
That’s why Homeschool OT exists: to support you, the parent. I know you are the expert in your child but that doesn’t mean you have to go at this alone.
Homeschooling is NOT alone-schooling
I’ll help you understand the “why” behind these challenges and show you how to incorporate effective strategies into your homeschool day. Together, we’ll create an environment where your child can thrive in pursuing what they need and want to do.
No matter where you are in your homeschooling journey, we’re here to help you and your family thrive. Explore our resources on your own, or let’s chat about specific recommendations.
I want you to feel the heartfelt support to make your homeschool extraordinary.
